The Neahusan Clan

Ah yes, the day all parents rejoice!

Yes, Kylee's too much like me.  In almost every picture she's blinking (above picture).  Oh well.  The girls were so excited to start at their new school Rolan Melton Elementary.  They were bustling and ready to go by 7:30 in the morning.  The only problem was that their school doesn't start until 9:30 in the morning.  It will take a little time to adjust to this late school schedule and be more productive in the morning before school starts.  Celeste starts first grade this year.

Kylee starts third grade.  The girls picked out their own outfits of course.  They did a good job too.  They look so cute!  (We are a bit biased however).  Kylee's teacher complimented her on her darling dresses on the second day of school and told her she'd like to go shopping with her.  That just made Kylee's day, boy was she beaming when she told us!

Aspen's going into fifth grade this year.  This will be her last year of Elementary school (if we stay in this specific school boundary).  Here sixth grade is in middle school with the seventh and eighth graders!  I'm not ready for that!  Aspen is though.  She is so grown up.

I'm so impressed with their teachers so far.  Aspen's teacher, Ms. Thomas has especially gone all out starting with her classroom decorations to her informational handouts to the parents, to the creative homework she's given Aspen already.   I later found out that Ms. Thomas has taught for over 20 years and has a master's degree too.   Aspen adores her already.

WOW!  All of us Meecham- Neahusan-Klaass-Ayres gang all in Utah together at the same time!  This hasn't happened in years.   My kids hadn't ever seen Amber's two boys yet.  It was sure fun for them to reacquaint themselves with their Aunt and Uncles and Grandparents.  This is how we four siblings now look Dustin, Derek, Amber and Andrea.

We got to visit with Grandma Anagene and Boyd several times, and we of course had to play a game of dominoes with everybody.  It's tradition!

Here is Grandma Anagene inheriting all of her end table knick-knacks to my greedy little children.

The kids got wet quite a few times in the two weeks we were in Utah.  Here they are swimming in Grandma Anagene's community pool.

They loved the little arm floaties that Grandma had.  It gave them more confidence and enjoyment in the water than ever before.  We couldn't get over the change in Will especially!

Don't Grandma Anagene and Grandpa Boyd look stunning out in the sun watching their great-grandkids swim?!?
I love this picture.

The kids got wet outside with their cousins.  This sprinkler pretty much only lasted once, but for clearance $5, it was totally worth it.

They got wet inside with cousins.  Grandma Klaass' huge jacuzzi tub is always a big hit with the kids.

And then there's Aspen.  Aspen is not a Neahusan in Utah.  She becomes officially an adopted member of the Monsen Family every trip.  We rarely see her the whole vacation.  But she probably prefers it that way (I know her best friend Hannah Monsen does).

Aspen and Hannah went to Hannah's grandparents one day and got to ride their horse.  They had a blast.  I think I got a little jealous.  Aren't they cute?

We had so much fun visiting with family and friends from our old neighborhood.  The ten days flew by too fast.  Thank you everybody for a fun summer vacation!

Kylee got baptized today, Aug. 2!  It was such a neat day for our family.  Kylee looked so beautiful and was excited for her special day.  Grandma Klaass made her white baptism dress long distance.  Kylee had a blast back in June picking out the pattern and discribing exactly what she envisioned.  She loved it!

Here we are in all of our Neahusan glory.  It was so fun to have cousins and grandparents share in Kylee's big day.

Aspen volunteered to give a little talk in front of everyone about the principles of baptism.  Mommy helped her a little with organizing her thoughts ahead of time, but she did the rest.  She didn't even get nervous!  She did excellent, and stole everyone's hearts.

Here's Kylee with Grandma and Grandpa Neahusan.
